Odyssey table from the Eclecticism collection made out of aluminum alloys
About the Item
The Odyssey table is dedicated to Slovenian architect Josip Plecnik and is freely inspired by the aesthetics of his sculptural work. The designer describes Plecnik as “the archetype of a timeless personality, an artist and a visionary who, in his late oeuvres, significantly reflected upon various classical influences”.
The presented low tables are part of the Eclecticism collection, in which I pursue the relationship between history and the present. Every piece from the collection is loosely inspired by a particular style or a movement from the past, and simultaneously, refers to a singular personality closely linked with the given era.
The Odyssey table has been included in the archive of the Moravian Gallery in Brno – Museum of Applied Arts in the Czech Republic to be a part of their Czech design archive.
Every product is meticulously hand-crafted in the Czech Republic and produced upon request.

Jiri Krejcirik, product and spatial designer, based in Prague. Creating new forms of decorativism, my work reimagines European cultural heritage through a contemporary lens. Threading the past and the present with my signature visual language, my portfolio encompasses furniture and lighting as well as glass art objects. I pay homage to craftsmanship. All of my products are locally hand-crafted in the Czech Republic, produced in a limited series and displayed only in meticulously chosen galleries and design showrooms in Europe, Australia and the US.
