19th century original French washing table – scrubbed and bleached top and rack
These simple and elegant workhorses were often found tucked away in French farmhouse out buildings, rejected when dollie tubs made them redundant. Once easy to find they are increasingly very hard to source. Crudely made, a little rickety (but stable) they make the most stunning and simple console tables with the most beautiful original washed out colour from years of use as a washing table, the scrubbed colour and texture is superb. Made of fruitwood with a beautiful small rack for soap and brushes.
Workshop report
Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
