Alkemy Console by Leo De Carlo
About the Item
Inspired by the Renaissance myth of the Philosopher's Stone, vainly sought after by alchemists and scholars in past centuries, Alkemy takes the tools of the alchemist's trade and "transforms" them into decorative sculptures. The two oversized stills, handmade of borosilicate glass, are mirrored and oxidized through the ancient technique of silvering. The lacquered wooden top, oval in shape and lunar in color, echoes the symbol of the star, a metaphor for human intelligence.
