Buck Rogers Inspired Wall Mirror & Overlapping Console Table 1980s Memphis Style
About the Item
Seemingly straight out of the set of a Buck Rogers episode, this amazing two part wall-mirror and overlapping wall-console are truly stylish time-capsule condition pieces! I purchased them from the original NNJ homeowners, who told me they got them at an upscale department store. They recall Alexander's in Paramus NJ!
Made of wood with a textured and silver-like enamel coat overlapped with 3/16ths inch thick pattern-carved aluminum wit circular cutouts. Glued right to the wood is the 1/4 inch thick flat mirrored glass. Notice too the different size dome-shaped hemispheres. All of this comes together to make what I would descibe as a high touch, meaning very tactile piece whose dynamics are only matched by its style and practicality.
The mirror and overlapping console table are mounted separately. The mirror is roughly 30 pounds and has heavy-guage picture wire for ease of installation. The console, roughly 20 pounds, has two discrete L-brackets for screw mounting directly into your wall.
Condition: Near-new condition. Honestly, I've found very little wear on this piece. You will be truly amazing how nice the condition is.
