Continental 19th Century Neo-Classical St. Giltwood & Painted Wood Console
About the Item
A most unique and extremely decorative Continental 19th century Neo-Classical st. patinated wood, faux painted marble and Giltwood console. The freestanding console is raised by a faux Gris St. Anne marble base with a mottled border. Above are two circular patinated off white and gilt pedestals with gilt draped decorations which are supporting handsome and richly carved open winged patinated off white eagles. The very decorative eagles have their claws wrapped around a single gilt perch. At the back are two circular columns decorated with gilt capitals below gilt dentil accents. Above is the impressive apron with a large Coeur de Rai gilt band over a mottled gilt band. At the top is the thick faux Gris St. Anne marble which is elegantly decorated with an Ormolu pierced gallery.
