Demilune Console Gold Leaf Hoof Legs/Hand-Painted Marble Top Manner of Duquette
About the Item
Honored to offer such a beautiful special console available for sale for the first time. This custom original console is from a jaw-dropping vintage Indian Wells (Palm Springs Area) Estate . The Demi-lune shape console has three hand carved legs done in a hand done beautiful layered 24 karat gold leaf. The top is a hand painted full marble and beautiful shades of dark green and black. After much research we are not sure who the maker or designer of this piece is, but the quality and design undoubtedly make it a rare and high end piece of furniture as art. The gold leaf legs are in beautiful original condition. The top is in very good condition although there are a few spots on the left side that appear to have been touched up. Please see pics. It in no way would detract from anyone not admiring and being in love with this console.
We currently have this beautiful piece in our North Palm Springs show room and would like to share to you that a couple of local A-list designers who fell in love with the peace attributed it to the style of Tony Duquette… but personally, I think it was custom made by an interior designer of exquisite taste like Angelo Donghia, or Jay Spectre.
