About the Item
An early Louis XV writing table in elmwood, French in origin, possibly from the Normandy region, and dating from the early 1700s.
The body in a linen-fold shaped form of good depth, and the elm exhibiting a fine acquired patina. The shaped top rests on a carved frieze with matching serpentine-form apron, and the body containing a sliding drawer spanning the front. The table rests on four cabriole legs, each tapering to a sabre point.
