French 1860s Walnut Console Table with Exquisite Carved Apron and Cabriole Legs
About the Item
This French walnut Louis XV style console table from the mid 19th century features a rectangular top with rounded edges over an exquisitely carved apron with single drawer and rococo style gilded hardware. The eye is immediately drawn to the curvy shape of the apron, beautifully accented in its center by a carved motif, flanked with two elegant volutes. The table is raised on four cabriole legs. It looks like the 19th century top has been placed on an 18th century base during the 19th century. The beautiful patina of the walnut, married to the graceful curvy lines of the base would make this French walnut console table circa 1860 an excellent addition to any library, office or living room.
