French hand forged iron demi lune console w/ marble top
About the Item
An original French Art Deco elegantly shaped demi-lune console. The base skillfully crafted from hand-forged iron features a lyrical, scrolling, curvilinear apron supporting its original and warmly toned breche marble top.
The color of the marble top is a melange of neutral beige, golden yellow, ochre, caramel and sandy white veined and striated shades.
The finely hand-forged ironwork is in the original dark pewter/ brownish nickel finish. The base flaunts a distinctive double-legged structure, gracefully curving and culminating in subbases shaped like elegant "S" scrolls. The apron showcases a captivating interplay of "C" scrolls, whimsical squiggly loops, and charming ball designs, creating an overall effect that is both enchanting and refined. This delicate arabesque border surround that supports the top is echoed in the design at the stretcher base.
This console effortlessly combines a sense of playfulness with timeless sophistication.
There are a few well executed repairs on the stone which are a tribute to its age and character.
Must be bolted to a wall for stability.
Can be used in an entry, hallway, foyer, dining room in any room setting
