George III Irish Rococo style carved pine pier mirror and matching marble topped table. The crest of the mirror frame is carved with scroll-work, roses, acanthus foliage and shell forms. A two-legged winged dragon with barbed tail surmounts the top left corner and a ho-ho bird decorates the top right.
The mirror's approximate dimensions are 130" H x 88" W
The console is fitted with a rouge royal marble top, mottled with ochre, buff and white and veined with silver-grey. The pierced carved apron is decorated with acanthus foliage, C-scrolls, floral motifs and shell work. The two cabriole legs in front are carved in the form of female busts above acanthus leaves and shell motifs. The back legs are scroll forms and also terminate in acanthus leaves and shells. The back of the console is mirrored between the legs with narrow molding at bottom edge. The consoles approximate dimensions are 37" H x 88" W x 22" D
The mirror and the console were probably originally gilded,

circa 1865.
