Heritage Gwol Console Table by Lee Jung Hoon

About the Item

Heritage Gwol console table by Lee Jung Hoon Dimensions: D98 x W28 x H76 cm Materials: walnut, granite, stainless steel, Steel. The Heritage series, created by designer Lee Jung-hoon is a collection of sculptural modern furniture. The designs are inspired by the characteristic forms, colours and appearance of traditional Korean architecture. Borrowing references from the archaic Hanok, which is the traditional Korean housing, the designer has attempted to reinterpret its beauty and vibe from a contemporary perspective. Lee Jung-hoon is a Korean craft and furniture designer who essentially draws inspiration from Korean heritage to create contemporary sculptural pieces that embody latent symbolism and double as practically usable objects. Tradition is a gene-like thing, which goes through evolution and degradation with the times. Although it is now a turbulent time in tradition, the unique gemstones inside of it remain unchanged. he wants to discover and explore these stones to find the formation that encompasses tradition and modern times. He is working on finding new types of furniture and decorations under the theme of Korean tradition, and at the same time wants to design the furniture that society needs today.
