Italian 18th Century Louis XVI Period Giltwood Freestanding Console Table

About the Item

A superb large scale Italian 18th century Louis XVI period giltwood freestanding console table. The console is raised by four circular fluted tapered legs ending with a topie shape below large carved leaves. The upper portion of the legs have additional leaves wrapping a half fluted bun design. The elegant straight frieze with a fluted design is flanked by large acanthus leaves and a decorative male mask at each corner below a mottled trim. Above lays the original and sensational veneered Brèche Violette marble top. All original gilt throughout.
