Onorata, Console Table with Drawers Inspired by the Carlo Scarpa's Architecture
About the Item
Console table with drawers inspired by the architecture of Carlo Scarpa and the design of the 1960s. The proportions emphasise the design of the brass structure, which is the result of manual soldering with a blowtorch between different materials with different melting points (braze welding) - a process that is impossible to carry out by machine. Elegant and precious, the console is carefully designed with attention to detail: the edges of the front cut-out of the drawers are finished in brass set into the wood; the inside of the drawers is manually lacquered in deep orange, a colour developed exclusively for Incalmi. The wood used is Canaletto walnut folder treated with natural oil. The brass is also natural: a declaration of love to the sincerity of the Material, which will become more precious over time thanks to oxidation.

The revival of this almost obsolete technique has a twofold interest for Incalmi: to save a made-in-Italy know-how of excellence, to re-produce high-end pieces. It was in fact the partnership between Incalmi and a major player in the world of luxury that led to the first collection of enamelled objects, distributed worldwide in the top range.
