Pair Of Italian 19th Century Neo-Classical St. Matching Mirrors And Consoles
About the Item
An impressive and most rare pair of Italian 19th century Neo-Classical st. Cherrywood, giltwood, polychrome, ebonized Fruitwood, ormolu matching mirrors and consoles. The consoles are raised by elegant square mottled supports below a most decorative Cherrywood bottom tier with a concave front. Striking ebonized Fruitwood columns with giltwood plinths and capitals lead up each side below the straight apron showcasing the lovely Cherrywood grain. Each mirror above retains its original mirror plate set within a fine mottled border. Striking fluted columns lead up each side with handsome richly carved paw feet at the base amidst large acanthus leaves and with beautiful pierced intricately detailed ormolu mounts with floral wreaths, superb blooming flowers and fine rosettes. Above is the impressive and extremely decorative top crown with a stunning pineapple at the center amidst exquisite colorful foliate designs with gilt accents and wonderful richly chased swaging berried laurel garlands at each side leading to cornucopias with abundant finely detailed giltwood foliate designs.
