About

A fine Swedish carved giltwood console table made circa 1820 by Petter Gustaf Bylander (1777-1859). Not signed. Most of the gilding is original. The Swedish “Åsby Diabas” marble top is a close relative to the Swedish porphyry, a very hard and difficult stone to cut. It is rare to find this type of stone.
