English Georgian Period 1820s Demilune Flip Top Console Table with Compartment

About the Item

An English Georgian period demi-lune console table from the early 19th century, with flip top, leather inset and gilt frieze. Created in England during the Georgian period in the first quarter of the 19th century, this lovely demi-lune table features a semi-circular top that flips up to reveal a leather inset accented with a gilt floral scrolling frieze. Having become round, this top completely tilts down the back to reveal a small yet convenient storage compartment. The apron is semi-circular in the front but straight in the back. The table is raised on four legs resting on pad feet. One of these legs swivels from the back to the side to allow the top to tilt down when needed. With its elegant Georgian lines, convenient features and dark brown patina, this English demi-lune flip top console table circa 1820 will make for a great addition to any home, perhaps placed in a living room or foyer.
