18th Century French Louis XV Transition Marquetry Gilt Bronze Desk Bureau Plat An 18th century gilt-bronze mounted double-face desk or bureau plat with herring-bone marquetry. The kidney shaped top with one frieze drawer and an opposing dummy drawer flanked by two cupboard doors enclosing a shelf, with scrolled acanthus leaf gilt-bronze mounts above cabriole legs with gilt-bronze sabots. The bronze mounts display fine chasing and elaborate gilding.
