1950's Amazing "Magic Box' Organiser Bureau Compact Plywood Ateliers Genestar

About the Item

This 'Magic Box' organising desk has been produced by various manufactures in Europe in the 1950's and 1960's Commonly this desk is known as produced in Switzerland by Mummenthaler & Meier but this same model was also made in Norway and France We believe this is the French version that was made by Ateliers Genestar as that version has the retractable plywood curved lamp illustrated in their original advertisement (photo 2) A very nice and compact solution that has a big surprise and lots of space inside when it has been completely unfolded Nowadays this type of organising desk comes in the shape of a smartphone and you can put it in your pocket Measurements listed below are of a closed cabinet When opened it measures width 166.5cm x depth 72.5cm x Height 113cm.

Beautiful and super rare 'Cassapanca di buona memoria' (chest of beautiful memories) by famed Italian artist Emilio Tadini (1927-2002).
