Beautiful quality of wood and shape, original leather and in excellent state of preservation. At the front we have 9 drawers, and at the back two doors and a false drawer. Signed by S. & H. Jewell inside the center drawer. There are Small defections on the desk but if the buyer would like in 5 days we can restore it. Obviously included in the price. Measurements are 168 wide, 82 deep maximum and 58 minimum in center, 77 high with original brass casters. S. & H. Jewell were cabinet makers with premises in Little Queen Street, Holborn, in London. They were founded in 1830 and were a family business. They are listed as having sold their furniture to Standen House, the Arts & Crafts home in East Grinstead. They also restored antiques and sold them from their London shop.Category
