19th Century English Mahogany Serpentine Writing Desk with Single Drawer

About the Item

English petite mahogany and cherry wood writing desk, England, 1890's. Exquisite serpentine desk with gracefully curved front and sides on turned spindle legs. The top has a unique feature as it is able to adjustably swivel to a 90 degree angle on one side. Meeting a need at the time, it is intended to bring your work within arms reach serving as a multi-functional piece such as a bedside table. A single dovetail, lengthwise drawer with frieze banding and intricate, carved detail seamlessly blends into the desk's elegant design. A diminutive curved gallery subtly defines the back of the table top. A beautifully crafted, well preserved desk in very good vintage condition.
