About the Item

Hello, This fine Viennese Biedermeier writing table was made circa 1825. Ebonized Biedermeier pieces were mostly made in Vienna, Austria and account for only 1-2 % of all Biedermeier furniture made. Therefore, they are very rare. Viennese Biedermeier is distinguished by their sophisticated proportions, rare and refined design and excellent craftsmanship and continue to have a great influence on modern design. The refined details of this gorgeous piece are highlighted by beautiful lyre-shaped two legs set on a sophisticatedly formed base. Lyre-shaped legs were a very distinctive and often used design element in the Biedermeier period. The large drawer is discreetly positioned under the top and the brass hardware is original. The piece is in very good condition. We offer our clients to send this elegant Biedermeier piece by air for discounted price of $1300. This is the safest form of transport for fine antiques. It also includes full insurance. The piece will be a great complement to any elegant interior. It does not matter whether it is a classic or modern interior because Biedermeier is simply timeless. We are providing a Certificate of Authenticity. Ebonized pearwood. Dimensions: H: 31 1/2 inches, W: 50 1/4 inches, D: 26 1/4 inches. French polish finish Vienna, c. 1825.
