About
This exceptional French Louis XV style kingwood parquetry writing desk or bureau plat features a parquetry inlaid top protected by shaped glass above a central bronze trimmed frieze drawer flanked by two circle segment front sections with two similar drawers in each. An unusual and very attractive composition. The desk is resting on four elegant cabriole legs ending in bronze sabots. Both ends are adorned by elaborate laurel branch gilt bronze mounts.
