19th Century, French Louis XV style Natural Wood Center Desk with Gilt Bronzes

19th Century, French Louis XV style Wood Center with gilded bronze applications desk table
This elegant centre desk, therefore finished on all four sides, was made in the first half of the nineteenth century in France, in Louis XV style. The structure is in oak "en bois naturel". The top, slightly wavy and curvilinear, has a green leather insert, stamped in gold along the border. On the front the cabinet has two side drawers. The four legs are arched and give graceful composition of the whole. The feet have golden bronze ferrules and chiseled in the shape of a paw and vegetal ornaments. The entire desk is embellished with applications in gilded bronze and finely chiseled: borders along the profiles and handles with rocaille ornaments composed of volutes and phytomorphic elements. Very particular and of great effect are the four applications all round in gilded bronze on the uprights of the legs. These are finely chiseled bronze sculptures with leaves and volutes centered by a flowering branch of rose.
The refinement of the decorative elements make this desk very pleasant, light as a whole and easily adaptable in any environment. Its predisposition to a central table, moreover, allows you to use it in any furnishing situation combined with antique furniture but also modern.
