Elegant, comfortable and confident. The AD6 is handcrafted of dovetail-joined solid hardwood and cold-rolled steel bar; a study in the basic elements of composition: line, plane and volume. Includes one file and one storage drawer.
Shown in solid white oak and cold-rolled steel.

All of our solid hardwood is sustainably sourced from Pennsylvania. All metalwork is handcrafted in our Newburgh, NY workshop.

Atlas Industries
Founded in 1993 by Thomas Wright and Joseph Fratesi, Atlas Industries is a multi-disciplinary design and manufacturing firm integrating interiors, furniture and objects in a craft-based sensibility. Our work is informed by the conviction that designing and building are mutually implied processes, always in dialogue. As the abstraction of design finds material expression in an object or space, the success of that expression must be sought in one’s experience of it. Thomas Wright grew up on a farm in California’s Central Valley. After graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in architecture, he worked in architecture and engineering firms in New York and San Francisco, before settling in New York. Joseph Fratesi was raised in northern Illinois. After studying economics and history at the University of Illinois, he moved to New York where he and Wright met, and began to explore the ideas and create the body of work that evolved into Atlas Industries. In 2013, after being based in Brooklyn for twenty-two years, we moved to Newburgh, in New York’s Hudson Valley. Here, in our studio and shop, we design, prototype, invent, build, and produce our work.
Available in walnut, white oak, maple, cherry, opaque lacquer, cold-rolled steel, blackened cold-rolled steel, or bronze.
