After RJ Horner Gold Giltwood Griffon Hardwood Double Sided Desk Writing Table

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this extremely ornate very solid writing table desk with drawers on both sides and ornately gold giltwood carved Griffons A very well made and decorative piece, the griffons are just about as lovely and decorative as you could possibly hope to find. This piece is modelled after RJ Horner who’s works include some of the most substantial and important desks ever crafted This desk is as solid as they come, it does not come apart and has been made to last, we have lightly cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there are some and use and transport patina marks here and there but they are very very small Dimensions: Height 79.5cm, under desk height 63cm Width 183cm Depth 102cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.

He was subsequently joined by his two sons George and William Powell (the sons of George Hampton; Harold, Fred and Clarence also later entered the business). In 1869 the business expanded with new premises on the corner site comprising 8 Pall Mall East and 1-3 Dorset Place (now Whitcomb Street).
