About the Item
An exquisite antique English Chippendale-style partner's desk circa 1860 in medium brown mahogany with warm-toned, light brown satinwood inlays. The desk showcases a unique oval profile with an inlaid brown leather top embossed with a decorative design around the rim, heralding a light satinwood border with outset pilasters carved with floral medallions and detailed with foliate relief. Features cabinet doors flanking either side of the kneehole, opening to four rich red-brown finished drawers each with brass handles. Raised on a plinth style base, completing the impressive design.
Dimensions: 61 1/4" L, 36" D and 29 3/4" H
Condition: Presents very well, especially for its age. With wear commensurate with age and use including minor surface scratches, finish wear, scuffs and fading to the leather top (Some level of leather restoration may be desired) and some scattered checking most notably a spot to the rim of the top surface and on the cabinet doors. Despite wear, an extraordinary and finely crafted Desk. Please review the pictures as they are a part of the condition report.

A very fine and complex well-crafted drop leaf table with rectangular top inlaid overall in fine scrolled marquetry details. The top panel with scrolling vines emanating from two vessels, framed by a scrolling vine wide band. Each rounded leaf with coordinating center panels and bands.
