Antique Petite French carved oak dolphin table desk Renaissance Gothic 19th c ~Direct from France~ An elegant antique French carved library table or "bureau plat" desk, commonly referred to as a "dolphin" table, for the ornately carved "dolphin" feet. ~Petite size for this style, making it perfect for a companion desk or sofa table…wonderfully versatile for use in today's home~ ~Incredible detailed carving, captivating features~ ~Ornate, relief carved lion masks on the canted corners and carved French gadrooning on the wide frieze~ ~Carved lion mask drawer handle (full length dovetailed drawer)~ ~Carved on all sides, perfectfor placement anywhere in a room because there's not a "back side"~ ~ Double legs on each side, hand carved, baluster shape~ ~Renaissance flair and mythical “dolphin” sea creature feet~ ~Large carved stretcher provides stability and support~ ~Solid oak with a dark finish, well built by craftsmen of the period~ ~c1880~ Measurements: 30.25” height x 33” x 23.5” (very petite for this style!).
