Particular writing-table, it has been realized with mahogany wood of the highest quality and finished with light birch wood inlays; on the sides, there are two strips that, once opened, increase the available space up to cm. 142, has two drawers, a real one on the front and a false one on the back, so that the coffee table can be placed on the wall or placed in the middle of the room to enjoy its aesthetics even at 360°; the top is supported by two sturdy legs with an elegant curvilinear design and is distinguished by its splendid proportions and refinement; it was handcrafted in Denmark between 1850 and 1855 during the reign of Frederick VII in pure Biedermeier style; The Biedermeier style spread mainly in Austria and Germany between 1820 and 1850 characterizes the furniture and furnishings that became simpler in response to the majesty typical of the Empire style. The Biedermeier style, born after the Congress of Vienna and the decline of the Napoleonic Empire, is intended in particular for the bourgeoisie, who wanted simple and functional furniture. The aim of the Biedermeier artistic movement is to enhance sobriety and harmony, modifying some of the stylistic motifs from the previous period, but stripping them of all the decorations, frills, and excesses that had characterized it. In this table, sober and harmonious, the combination of curved and straight lines is skillfully emphasized in an interesting play of volumes and geometries, giving the object a timeless elegance that can characterize any environment of the house.
