Contemporary Sitting Standing "Work" Desk in Solid White Oak by Casey Lurie, USA
About the Item
Work desk is the smaller sibling of our WORK table, a contemporary take on the traditional working tables used by artists and designers for centuries. The choice of materials combined with the robust construction give the table a timeless feel, resulting in a piece of furniture well suited to a variety of applications. The distinctive ratcheting mechanism allows for heights ranging from 30-42 inches for a variety of sitting and standing positions. While the much larger table seats six to eight, the desk is for a single person. Each piece is made by hand to order using traditional joinery techniques and the finest materials available.

Casey Lurie Studio
Casey Lurie is an independent designer based in Chicago. He apprenticed as a cabinet maker in Los Angeles before spending three years in Tokyo as designer-in-residence for Japanese furniture manufacturer Idée. In 2012 he established his design practice, Casey Lurie Studio, which integrates craft and industrial techniques to produce furniture and objects marked by thoughtful attention to detail, scale, and proportion. In addition to his studio production, Lurie works with like-minded manufacturers, architects, and interior designers to design and develop a wide range of projects.
