About the Item

Johannes Torpe "Maria" Table from The Space Enabler Collection for Haworth A genuine and highly functional "Maria" personal table, designed by celebrated Danish designer Johannes Torpe as part of his "The Space Enabler" collection for Haworth. This piece is a masterpiece of dynamic, minimalist design, created to mobilise the modern workspace. Torpe designed this collection to be solid, durable, and intuitive. Crafted entirely from powder-coated steel, the "Maria" table is exceptionally solid and heavy, ensuring a stable, wobble-free worksurface. Its brilliance lies in its dual-function, space-saving design: Height-Adjustment: A smooth, silent lift (operated by a subtle lever) allows the top to be instantly adjusted from a seated lounge height to a standing position. Flip-Top (Tilting) Surface: The all-steel top tilts from perfectly flat to a 70-degree angle, transforming it from a robust laptop table into a professional lectern for presentations or reading. An integrated steel ledge at the bottom edge securely holds a laptop, book, or tablet. The clever, asymmetric Y-shaped base is designed to be space-saving, sliding perfectly under a sofa, lounge chair, or bed. This is the ultimate "laper" table, perfect as a mobile standing desk, an occasional side table, or a reading lectern in any premium home or office environment. Very good used condition. The tilting mechanism is firm. The all-steel finish is clean and free of significant wear. Materials: Fully constructed from powder-coated steel (top, column, and base). An eye-catching addition to any space, it can equally well be used as a home office desk. To make space for other things when needed, laptops and office utensils can quickly be stowed in the handy storage compartment under the tabletop. The compartment is closed on three sides and can be fitted with two electrical sockets if desired. Whether at home or in a hotel room, the elegant Bureau table complements any interior. The frame is made of solid beech, with an array of matte colors to choose from to add a personal touch.
