French 19th Century Charles X Period Rosewood and Brass Inlaid Desk

About the Item

A stunning French 19th century Charles X period Rosewood and brass inlaid desk. The unique and most decorative desk is raised by eight lovely topie shaped feet below beautiful square baluster-shaped supports. Each support displays intricately detailed foliate brass inlays and two display tiers decorated with Fine brass fillets. At the straight frieze are three drawers each decorated with additional striking brass foliate inlays and ormolu keyhole escutcheons. Above the drawers is a lovely concealed pull-out writing surface with a fitted gold-tooled leather top. Above is the same elegant gold-tooled oval-shaped leather top framed within a beautiful Rosewood border with brass fillets and exceptional detailed floral brass inlays.
