Early 19th Century George the III Satinwood Desk

About the Item

This Early 19th Century George III satinwood desk exemplifies the elegance and craftsmanship of the period with its neoclassical design. The piece features intricate inlay work, curved lines, and refined decorations, all raised on slender tapering legs. It includes a green leather-lined writing surface that can be elevated when needed and showcases neoclassical imagery, wood cutout trimming, and windowed doors. Crafted from warm, yellowish-gold satinwood, known for its hard texture and natural luster, this desk reflects the sophisticated style of George III furniture. Combining elements of both Hepplewhite and Sheraton designs, it illustrates the transitional nature of early 19th-century British furniture making. This desk is not only functional but also a beautiful statement piece, ideal for any home. H= 61 in. W= 49 in. D= 23.5 in. 120 lbs.
