About the Item
A fine Antique French Bronze mounted writing table with particularly fine form dating to the late 19th Century. The table features all over Bronze mounts including Caryatid figures on the Cabriolet legs, Foliate mounts outlining the desk at apron and legs, a Foliate motif key escutcheon and a full top edge surround in simple undecorated bronze. The writing surface is a shaped and inset gilt embossed Black Leather framed by a 2.25” Ebonized surround.
Dimensions: 54” wide by 28.25” deep by 30.25” high.
Condition: Please see detail photos. There are some various signs of age including wear, scratches and a triangular loss to the inset leather top, enhancing tarnish to the bronze top surround and some marks to the Ebonized top frame with sporadic nicks to the frame.The Writing Table retains a very refined and commanding presentation.
