French writing Table 2 drawers in Solid Cherry Wood - Louis XVI Directoire style
About the Item
This writing table is part of the Mélanie collection, a modern interpretation of the French Directoire style of the late 18th century.
This style is famous for its straight, classic and timeless lines embellished with diamonds, grooves or cartouches on the front.
With the MELANIE collection all furnitures' dimensions and designs of the facades have been adapted to our current interiors.
This writing desk has 2 independent drawers' fronts with dovetails and is made of high valued sustainably managed and PEFC certified French cherry woods.
The finish we propose here is a home-made cherry stain, called "cherry D" with a natural transparent varnish for the front grooves.

MON PETIT MEUBLE FRANCAIS is a new brand launched in September 2018 by Eric Weiler (founder) and Eric Gizard (designer). We deliver 100% made in France high-end and top quality furniture pieces. Main material is wood, mainly ash, oak and cherry. Our wood comes exclusively from sustainably managed French forests. The craft-handed manufacture in the Loire Countryside and Bretagne ensures robustness and a very long life cycle for each piece. All our models are already fully assembled in our workshops. Eric Gizard is a famous French Designer in Paris and works several Fashion and Luxury Brands. He sublimates with his very fluid and elegant design each piece of our collections EGEE and KUBE. More over and previous to the launch of MON PETIT MEUBLE FRANCAIS, in 2010, Eric Weiler took over an old cabinet-maker named GONTIER established in France since 1920. French Traditional pieces and new designed models from GONTIER are also proposed on 1st Dibs.
