French, Louis Philippe, Walnut Standing Desk or Lectern, ca. 1835-1840
About the Item
This special desk is finished around so that it could float in a room, perhaps a lectern, a point of sale, or even an auction podium it has a raised upper shelf, a slanted and hinged writing surface opening to reveal a large storage well flanked by two long drawers, below the slanted surface is another long drawer, when the long drawer is removed the two sides slide out to reveal two hidden drawers, raised on beautifully turned legs and ball feet
