Spanish Baroque Period Dark Walnut and Iron Center or Writing Table, ca. 1675

About the Item

In its day a portable table these sometimes referred to as “guard room tables” have hinges atop the trestle supports and fold up when the iron stretchers are unscrewed, this table having a rectangular top with lovely dark patina and excellent grain, the top resting on trestle-form supports with shaped bottom stretchers and joined by wrought iron stretchers, very sturdy, level, and functional table
