Portuguese Late Baroque Rosewood 2-Drawer Center Table or Desk, 18th Century
About the Item
Having a substantial rectangular top with molded edge above a rounded case housing two long drawers which are mounted with shaped metal escutcheons, the opposite side with false fronts, with lyre form trestle legs joined by boldy turned long stretchers and pierced and shaped shorter stretchers, all of the elements of the table joined by steel pins with decorative metal plates, the feet carved with openings.
