French Louis XIII Style Oak Barley Twist Library Table Desk
About the Item
Fine 19th century French carved oak library table, or writing table desk made in the grand Louis XIII taste. Features thick barley twist legs conjoined on the bottom with barley twist stretchers topped with two finials. Surmounted by an oak case with a carved frieze of acanthus and rosette motifs. Fronted by two large storage drawers with relief carving. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with a beautifully aged patina on the oak. The desk measures 24.5 inches from the floor to the bottom of the case with ample leg room.
