About The Maker

Born in the Italian city of Turin, capital of the industrial design, Ivan Paradisi rediscovers the art of wood crafting from a brand new perspective, as a former musician and singer, Ivan starts his career in the world of furniture by restoring important pieces of art . His passion for different kind of wood materials, had him creating his own firsts pieces of art furniture many years ago. His works have been exposed at the Biennale in Venice, at the Italian Pavillon in Turin and have been awarded the Artisan Excellence Award. In his works the former musician and singer, Ivan Paradisi, rediscovers the art of wood crafting from a totally new perspective. Straight lines and modern wooden inlays come to life with different layers and curves, which, are being cut out from precious types of wood. Each piece, handcrafted entirely by Master Ivan itself, is designed keeping in mind the grace of the old Italian tradition, with a new sophisticated vision of space. His musical background and an unsurpassed passion for wood, allowed Ivan Paradisi to design his own pieces of furniture, with a contemporary look and a new concept of space. These unseen designs and shapes are so complex to a point where they seem impossible to be real. It is thus that art of wooden inlays, which is an antique craft, finds a new energy in the virtue of Ivan eccentricity. Paradisi complex and personal interpretations are the results of a particular sensibility added to a deep knowledge of his Art.
