About the Item

This exceptional desk by renowned Norwegian designer Svend Ivar Dysthe is a masterful example of Scandinavian modernism from the 1960s, made by Dokka Mobler. Veneered with beautiful exotic wood, the desk showcases its stunning natural grain, with a luxurious black faux leather top adding a sophisticated touch. The minimalist chrome legs enhance the piece’s modern aesthetic, creating a perfect balance between elegance and functionality. The desk features two spacious storage cabinets with drawers, providing ample and practical storage space. Both sides are lockable with keys. Its craftsmanship extends to the back panel, making it equally suitable as a freestanding statement piece. The attention to detail, from the finely crafted handles to the premium materials, reflects the high standards of Mid-Century Scandinavian design. Professionally restored, this desk is in excellent condition, preserving its original charm while offering a flawless appearance. The black desk top was exchanged to new high quality faux leather and the whole piece was cleaned and refinished with oil. A timeless piece, it is ideal for elevating a home office, study, or professional workspace. This is not just a desk - it is a collector’s item that embodies the beauty and functionality of Scandinavian design in its best.
