About the Item
A sculptural freestanding oak executive desk by Henning Kjærnulf, crafted in Denmark circa 1960s. The design showcases the expressive wood craftsmanship and sculpted contours characteristic of Danish modern furniture from this era.
The desk features six drawers—three on each side—with beautifully curved drawer fronts and rounded brass or brass-toned metal handles, combining functionality with elegant detailing.
At the back, the desk includes built-in storage, featuring two open compartments with adjustable shelves and a central cabinet with a hinged door, providing both open and closed storage solutions. This dual-sided design allows the piece to sit freely in a room, making it ideal as a statement piece in a home office or studio.
With its rich oak grain, balanced proportions, and finely sculpted form, this desk exemplifies the timeless craftsmanship and material warmth of Scandinavian Modern design.
A fine brutalist object that fits in many interior styles. A Modern, Scandinavian, Art Deco interior and a Classic home for example.
