About the Item
Hand crafted live edge slab desk. Made from highly figured wood with a variety of wood species choice. The desk is designed and made by designer Michael Oates. Drawing its influence from the New Hope area and its neighboring river towns, paying tribute to the area's deep roots in the craft design scene and movement. The desk features intricate inlay to the slab desk top, carved and sculpted live edges, slab support leg and three drawer pedestal cabinet. The desk pictured was a custom commission by the artist using burled silver Maple, and ribbon Sapele. This desk is made to order and can be designed in various size speciation, choice of wood species and pedestal option. The artist and designer is highly collectable in the primary and secondary markets and is know for his works on canvas as well as in wood.
