About the Item

Red 1970s Orix desk by Vittorio Parigi & Nani Prina for Molteni & C. From the Molteni Museum website: “You write on it and I read at it, but she looks at her reflection in it, another places his books on it, while some study and others play on it; you put it in the hall and he keeps his invoices in it. We distribute it in a box that’s not very big, containing the plastic top, the steel frame, the glass lid top and the handy lamp. It’s called the Orix multi-purpose desk and it comes in red, black, mustard, dark blue or green.” This was how the only piece of furniture in ABS manufactured by Monteni&C in the 1970s was presented. Orix was accompanied by a small chair characterised by a one-piece body in coloured ABS and a “cantilever” aluminium frame.
