About the Item
Made in Italy, probably c. 1930 Long Déco desk with curved shapes veneered and edged in wood and briarwood. The practicality of this desk is that it has four side drawers with chrome-plated metal and bakelite handles that are not only decorative but also very useful. It is completed by wood panelling, partially upholstered in parchment with styrofoam fronts. There are some defects due to use and the normal passage of time. The desk remains an early 20th century piece of rare beauty and lends prestige to the room in which it is placed. It can be used in a professional studio or in a home, used as a reading and study desk. cm W 170 D 92 H 79
