Rare Hos Wulff Free Standing Desk in Teak

About the Item

Hos Wulff, free standing writing desk, faux leather, teak, Denmark, 1940 This free standing writing desk is designed by Hos Wulff and dates back to 1940. With regard to its essential form, material use, and expert craftsmanship, this desk is a testimony to Danish Modern Design from the interwar period. Clarity, simplicity, and structure are the main characteristics. The body is based on a crescent shape and rests on three cylindrical-shaped legs. The determining detail that evidences the designer's careful thinking and great eye for detail is the way he designed the storage system. The front is furnished with two compartments, each equipped with two drawers. The back is flanked with two compartments that can be accessed through the drop-down leaf and two open spaces. In addition, a pull-out tray can be extended on both sides of the tabletop to create more work space. Whatever perspective you take on it, every angle provides a different visual excitement, and, therefore, this table can be placed freely in the room.       Please note that this item is in good, used condition with signs of age and use. This includes scratches and discoloration on the top. The wood exhibits scratches. Restoration can be done before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized restoration is possible as well.
