Breathtaking antique French ebonized bureau plat with a gorgeous 3 panel black leather top. This fine desk has so many remarkable attributes, it makes me wonder, where to start. Sturdy old-world craftsmanship is showcased in this unique French specimen from its predominate use of solid ebony, spectacular fluting and turnings, the gilt accents, all the way up to that gorgeous three panel leather top. As you can see, this dynamite desk offers three locking drawers (two, of which are double-deep) a knockout of a stretcher adding extra stability, while Louis XVI style fluted legs add extra charm to this already special antique desk. This tremendous desk spent two entire weeks in our restoration department, where it was totally gone through top to bottom. If you like the appearance and scale of antique furniture but, appreciate the smooth gliding drawers of more modern furnishings, look no further----Here it sits!
