About the Item
Tapparelle is a desk in solid oak with a strong and material grain, where the sinuous and modern forms are the counterpart of a solid structure enhanced by the material and by the very high quality of the workmanship, largely artisanal.
The desk is equipped with a compartment closed by a wooden shutter made of oak rods mounted by hand on canvas. An ancient suggestion; one would expect to find inside pen and inkwell, but it is thought today to hide the tools of modernity, telephone, laptop and tablet.
The desk is assembled and protected by a wooden crate for export
It belongs to a timeless collection of wooden containers, the Tapparelle collection, which draws its inspiration from the comfortable and informal furnishings of the houses of famous writers who lived between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.

Our expressive research is inspired by the Scandinavian design, the Bauhaus, the Italian architects of the '50s as well as ethnic handcraft, houses of famous writers of the XX century, suspended between present, past and future; the artists who wrote the code of modernity, as Mondrian, Sonia Delaunay, Moholy Nagy, Brancusi and the graphic genius of Escher. We love trips to far lands, starting from Argentina, Laura's birthplace, where our dream started. From there comes the name Colé, tied to a common memory: an element of color which makes us smile just thinking about it.

The base has tapered solid oak feet and sliding shutters. The sliding shutters, "Tapparelle" in Italian (from there comes the name of the product), specially designed for this collection, are composed in chopsticks in solid oak and hand mounted on cotton canvas, as true artisan tradition wants. The structure is in wood panels thickness 16 mm, with double bottom that hides the sliding of the shutter. Finishing in matt lacquered in three colors: Perl white, Pastel blue or a dramatic dark Hague blue. Two internal shelves are veneered in natural oak.
