Unusual Antique American Sheraton Clerk's Desk with Gallery
About the Item
An unusual 19th c., American Sheraton Clerk's Desk. A shaped gallery with a larger rectangular pigeon hole flanked by three square pigeon holes to each side. The slant writing surface is over three drawers, on turned legs. The drawers have lovely brass pulls.
This desk is somewhat perplexing and certainly would be a statement piece in any room. It is possible that this desk has been altered at some point but there is no certainty of that. Taken as is, this is a lovely and memorable piece of furniture.
