Victorian Rosewood Kidney-Shaped Writing Desk Item Code: 1073 A fine quality Victorian rosewood kidney-shaped writing desk, beautifully proportioned and richly figured. The moulded top is inset with a tooled green leather writing surface, framed by a delicate pierced gallery with turned finials. The shaped frieze contains a series of small drawers, providing useful storage. Supported on boldly turned and spiral-carved end supports, united by a central stretcher, the desk is raised on scrolled and carved feet. A striking and elegant piece of 19th century design, perfect as both a functional desk and a statement furniture item. * Rich rosewood of fine colour and grain * Kidney-shaped form with moulded edge * Tooled green leather inset writing surface * Pierced gallery with turned finials * Frieze fitted with small drawers * Spiral-carved supports united by a stretcher * Raised on scrolled and carved feet Dimensions: Width: 105 cm Depth: 52 cm Height: 80 cm

For sale is a fine quality William IV rosewood writing table, possibly Scottish, with velvet inset surface to the central ratchet action flap, the underside with remains a paper label which reads "of Callendar / Callendar House, / Falkirk".
