About the Item
An exceptional vintage Scandinavian desk by Torbjorn Afdal. This was made by Bruksbo in Norway, it dates from the 1960’s.
The quality is outstanding, this has a beautiful and very useful design. The colour tones and grain patterns are stunning, this is nicely finished on the back as well, so this can be used as a free standing item. The drawers have wonderful sculpted handles and offer plenty of storage space, there is a generous kneehole space.
We have had this stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is superb throughout.

Torbjørn Afdal
Torbjørn Afdal was one of the leading designers at Bruksbo Tegnekontor and in Scandinavia. Afdal became more well known when his furniture was bought by US first lady Jacqueline Kennedy and by the Japanese Emperor. In later years, he was granted the commission to design the parliamentary and chairs and tables to the courthouse in Oslo.
